“It’s difficult to know what will happen – there are a lot of drivers in the sport with money and a lot of teams that need money. That is probably the biggest issue, that it is not just outright talent that gets you a seat in the car any more.” Richard Goddard ( Paul Di Resta's representative)
According to Brazilian newspaper O Estado de S.Paulo, Felipe Massa could be F1's żnewest? pay driver. Livio Oricchio (from said newspaper) is claiming that Maldonado has grown impatient with Williams' lack of performance during the past seasons. So he has been talking to Lotus seeking the cold vacant seat Raikkonen is living behind.
Raikkonen's seat is so cold it burns. Probably the most disputed seat since Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes are all locked up (McLaren still has to confirm, but its a very small chance they'll drop their pay driver [Perez]).
Although PDVSA still has a 2 years left of sponsoring Williams [at U$ 35 million a year] , it looks like Lotus could also be interested in the Venezuelan (chump if you ask me) if their deal with Quantum Investments does not go through as planned.
Interestingly enough, it could also be that Williams is tired of the lack luster performances Maldonado has put on and this could also be a way to get some pay out of Maldonado's directed breach of contract as Massa would also bring along a few sponsors, though at a fraction (reportedly has U$ 6 million package put together) of what PDVSA pays.
Massa at least has got some talent left in him.
"He still makes too many mistakes. In Korea we told him repeatedly in the last stint to take care of the right front and, if possible, stay out of the battles. But what did he do? Drives like a madman and ruins his tires within three laps." -Unnamed Williams team member-
That couple with his pass of Bottas for 16th seems to have pissed off the bosses at Williams.
If you ask me I was never happy with Maldonado at Williams. He is not only the Venezuelan poster boy for the now defunct Chavez's Bolivarian Dreams, but he is also the poster boy for pay drivers, those who just have the cash to back up their unexistent racing talents moves.

Maldonado AND Grosjean at Lotus?
Maybe they'll crash each other out on the start line of every race and everyone else will be able to have clean races then.

Romaine lettuce has matured into quite the fine f1 driver considering last season was his first complete season.
